On the road to higher education

I have been thinking a lot lately about my life and I’ve come to the conclusion that I am unhappy with my “career” path. I wouldn’t necessarily call customer service and data entry a career but it’s what I’ve been doing to make money for the past few years.

I don’t really regret not graduating from college but I regret that I wasn’t ready for school. I was un-motivated to see things out to the end while I went to Purdue University and community college. I was mostly going to school because hubs was going to school and I figured it was expected of me. I wasn’t enjoying it and wasn’t happy. In short, I didn’t really want to be in school.

Sick of how little respect and responsibility I’ve been getting at work I submitted University of Memphis’ application today. I’m getting ready to request official transcripts to be mailed and then I need to fill out the FAFSA so I can get financial aid.

I’ve always enjoyed writing and photography so I started exploring careers where I can do both. Photojournalism? The University of Memphis has a journalism degree. and if I minor in photography that will give me the right background to go into photojournalism.

I’ll keep you posted on what’s going on …
